MISTY

‘Can anyone hear me? ‘Is anybody here? I scream. I am frightened. How did I get here at this time of the night? Everywhere is dark and misty; I can’t see the way ahead of me because I’m covered in a thick fog. It’s scary out here. I can’t remember how I got to this place and I can’t recognize anything. I don’t even know what this place is. All I remember is waking up here. My goodness, who brought me here? Where is this place?

I continue trudging but there isn’t any direction. I’m terrified and different thoughts plague my mind like, ‘What if I’m in a forest and wild beasts are on the loose?’ I can’t smell anything. I move my hands around to see if I can touch and feel anything but I can’t see anything; it’s like I’m in space and I’m just moving around in an orbit.

Many hours later, I lay on the ground- at least I can feel this. On the ground, I can see light at a distance so I crawl in that direction but the light seems to move away as I crawl towards it. After crawling a long distance, my knees, elbows, and hands are cracked and they hurt. I lose hope. No one will find me and I’ll die here. I start crying at this realization; I wail so loud that I lose my voice. I’m silent now and my eyelids are closing on their accord.

“She is awake. Oh my goodness, she is!” I hear somebody scream as I struggle to open my eyes. I can’t feel my body but I can see someone above me- not clearly. I can’t recognize the person. Another person rushes to my side again and does something around me but I don’t know what it is. My head feels too light. I can’t place this feeling and I hate how this is. I notice I’m drifting back to only God knows where; my eyelids begin to close on their accord and again I find myself in this misty, and dark place!
